Silver Smoky Eye: Still Sexy But Softer Beauty Trend

The smoky eye.

It's got to be the SEXIEST makeup ever, and many beautiful stars make sure they are wearing it on the red carpet. Rihanna wowed everyone at the CFDA show in June. Check out the smolder.

But Rihanna was showing off a different smoky eye. She's in the silver zone.

The smoky eye usually means black liner and dark eye shadow.

But what about tweaking the classic look just a bit?

The silver smoky eye is a beauty trend that STILL appears sexy but in a softer way.

A silver shadow on top of a black, lined eye will give you that nice, grey punch of color minus the harshness of a darker, smoky eye.

Kim Kardashian used to do the silver smoky eye a few years ago. And we liked the makeup look on her, too.

Looking for silver eye shadow?

Then try this one: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbelized Eye Shadow Duo, Silver Spark ($7.29).

Megan Fox Morphs Into Courteney Cox At Ninja Turtle Premiere

There's something so beautiful about raven hair + blue eyes.

Just look at Megan Fox and Courteney Cox. Both wear long, black hair, center part, and well, we see a striking resemblance.

Megan Fox has morphed into Courteney Cox! And yes, we think that's a good thing.

Let's examine this further. Here's a photo of gorgeous Megan Fox as she hit the red carpet down under this evening at the Sydney première of her new movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

So lovely in tangerine, complete with a simple, long side braid.

Now here is the amazing Courteney Cox.

We see a similar bone structure, lip size, and of course those blue dazzlers with the long lashes.

Both Megan + Courteney always show up at public events with just the proper amount of makeup. NEVER over-done.

Megan + Courteney are showing off soft, smoky eyes and pale pink lips.

One of Courteney's fave lipsticks is a classic by Laura Mercier called Baby Lips---a sheer, warm pink. We found a tube at Sephora for $24.

We think both ladies look great with a sleek center part and simple braid or ponytail.

Ariana Grande's Signature High Ponytail: There's A Reason For It--Bang Bang!

People keep asking why mega-star Ariana Grande won't switch it up?

They're talking about her signature high ponytail, which continues to appear EVERY time the petite pop princess belts out another hit. Most recently, she showed off the high pony performing at Rockefeller Center on August 29th for the Today show.

Well, so what?

Ariana is cute as a button, and the 60's go-go hairstyle along with her often worn white, go-go boots are working for her.

But there is a real reason why Ariana is comfy with her signature ponytail, and she explained it on her Instagram site way back in January. Yet critics keep picking on the star:

...."Since people give me such a hard time about my hair I thought I’d take the time to explain the whole situation to everybody.

"I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first four years of playing Cat [on Victorious]…as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair. I now wear a wig on Sam & Cat. My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions but I wear it in a ponytail because my actually hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down. I tried wigs, they looked RIDICULOUS. Tried a weave because I am working on a new project and want to try some different looks and literally wanted to rip my scalp off.

"So as annoying as it is for y’all to have to look at the same hairstyle all the time, it’s all that works for now (AND I’m comfortable for the first time in years). And trust me, it’s even more difficult for me to have to wait.

"And trust me, it’s even more difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined. So PLEASE gimme a break about the hair (or just don’t look at me lol). IT’S JUST HAIR AFTER ALL. There are way way way more important things. Love ya’ll very much."

Ariana's stylist Dalina Robollo explains the signature hairstyle here on YouTube.

Purely Platinum Parade Of Celebs Just In Time For NY Fashion Week!

When we think platinum, we think of something very expensive, or movie icon Marilyn Monroe and of course, our generation's uber blonde girl--Gwen Stefani.
Gwen Stefani at U.S. Open Thursday

And now heading into NY Fashion Week, the buzz appears to be on PLATINUM hair, because celebrities are taking the platinum plunge. And it's a sexy, cool, classic look.

Over time, purely platinum does a number of bad things to your locks. Your mane can end up resembling straw, appear extremely frazzled , take on a brassy shine or even worse, fall out.

But when the platinum is done by a professional, well-cared for, it's hard to ignore the rich high-wattage hair color. Platinum gets a lot of attention.

Gwen is the most, well-maintained platinum blonde beauty we have EVER seen, because she will NOT venture out in public if those tell-tale dark roots are showing. So the star is very religious about her strict platinum routine.

This is what Gwen revealed to Harper's Bazaar 2 years ago about maintaining platinum locks:

"Do you think Marilyn Monroe had to talk about this?" she asks smiling. "Well, I heard she did hers with a Q-tip every 10 days, so I try to follow Marilyn's rule." I mention that she's never been photographed with dark roots..... "And you'll never see me with roots either."

About discovering the beauty of bleach, Gwen says it changed her life big time!:

Gwen recalls how she felt when, at the age of 25, she spent 8 hours in a hair salon in Long Beach getting her coveted white-blonde locks. "It was like I'd unlocked the key. I remember feeling like, 'I have arrived. This is me. Finally.'"

We LOVE platinum hair. However, our mane is as dark as a Kardashian, so----we can't go there without some major hair damage.

But for those of you who can and will go PLATINUM, lucky you! But don't forget to CONDITION!

Celeb stylst Mara Roszak suggests this one by L'Oreal ($9.29, at CVS). She even uses it herself:

“For hair there’s nothing like L’Oréal Paris OleoTherapy Sulfate-Free Deep Recovery Mask for a weekly treatment. The number one concern women have with their hair is dryness, which not only doesn’t look great, but makes hair almost impossible to style. This mask will save your hair! I use it at least once a week and apply a shower cap while in the shower, allowing it to penetrate deeper from the steam for at least five minutes.”

"I Will What I Want" Say Gisele + Lindsey In Exciting New Under Armour Campaign

First it was Misty Copeland.

And today it is Gisele Bundchen and Lindsey Vonn.

BRAVO to Under Armour, the popular, American sports clothing + accessories company, which recently launched the message of the moment---"I WILL WHAT I WANT."

Of course, these inspiring TV commercials are designed to get more women to buy Under Armour's line of athletic products, but the ads have also been created to highlight strong women who have broken barriers to climb to the top.

The company began this incredible campaign back in July with ads featuring Misty, the American Ballet Theatre soloist who had been told she didn't have the right body for ballet, and so on. She persevered and made it, and her invincible spirit carried her all the way.

This morning, model Gisele and Olympic skier Lindsey explained their roles in the Under Armour campaign to Lara Spencer on Good Morning America.

We enjoyed seeing both athletic women, except we found Gisele to be a bit attention-hungry. Poor Lindsey Vonn couldn't get a word in edge-wise.

Check out what we mean here.

Then again, Gisele Bundchen is the highest paid model around the world, so there is a reason for that. Plus, she walks the talk, as the saying goes--- a super model + super athlete.

Meantime, we think it's a smart + effective campaign for Under Armour sportwear on all fronts.

To learn more about it, click here.

Beautiful women's work-out clothing, too. Take a look at UnderArmour's newest arrivals.

Metallic Tattoo Jewelry Trend Makes For Lovely Arm Candy This Fall

Imagine tattoos that SHINE + SHIMMER.....and don't force a commitment that lasts forever.

We are LOVIN' the HOT trend that is heading right into Fall 2014:

Metallic Tattoo Jewelry in gold or silver.

And it makes for lovely arm candy. It's affordable and these intricate designs naturally wash off in about 4-6 days (or you can remove them with rubbing alcohol whenever you want).

Celebrities like model Alessandra Ambrosio showed hers off during the Summer Coachella Festival. Alessandra wore them on her shoulder. So pretty!
So, how do you put metallic tattoo jewelry on?

And where do you buy them?

At Luludk

and FlashTattoo.

All you need is a little water to put them on.

Here's application advice from FlashTattoo:

"Place the tattoo face down on your skin and hold a wet cloth against it for about 30 seconds. Peel the paper aside then pat gently with the wet cloth. Tada! Be sure not to twist or stretch skin until the tattoo has had time to set (at least 10 minutes). Flash Tattoos look best after they have had an hour or two to set into the skin."

By the way, metallic jewelry tattoos are safe + non-toxic.

We think the look is playful, sexy + boho chic.

Will you jump on the metallic tattoo jewelry trend and stick some on this Fall?
