CoverGirl has always enjoyed a great reputation for makeup.....until now. The gigantic beauty company has picked up some major buzz, and it isn't complimentary, either.
One young woman has come recently come forward to complain about CG's Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara. She claims she lost several lashes because the formula makes it difficult to remove the waterproof mascara.
And she is not alone. We have been reading a few more complaints about the Bombshell's hard, sticky, clumpy mascara that is "impossible to remove."
The formula is comprised of a 2-step process---1. mascara 2. top coat.
How could CG Bombshell mascara be a DUD if actress Sofia Vergara wears it + promotes it for the brand?
Even expert beauty reviewer, Paula's Choice, has given CG Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara HIGH 5's, the BEST of the BEST for 2014.
BUT-------Under CONS.....Paula's Choice does admit this:
Requires extra effort with makeup remover to make sure it's all off.
And Paula's Choice DOES again mention the difficulty trying to remove this formula:
"Bombshell Volume wears all day, without smearing or flaking. It's actually difficult to remove completely without extra effort, even using an oil- or silicone-based remover; your regular cleanser will break this down only to a point, so be sure to have makeup remover handy!"
CG suggests using their CoverGirl Clean Eyes Makeup Remover for Eyes & Lips ($4.99, at Walgreens.
Read on. These Makeup Alley reviewers aren't shy about their distaste of CG's Bombshell mascara and the possibility of losing lashes trying to remove the stuff.
Now...Does this concern you about Cover Girl Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara?
And will giant company CoverGirl take action to either improve the formulaor toss it out of their mascara lineup?

Jessica Seinfeld Takes Big, Blonde Beauty Risk: Is It A Fail?
We have said this several times before---- NOT every, dark-haired woman can be blonde and have it look right.
It's a very tricky maneuver, because it's ALL about your skin tone. And even the BEST of stylists can get it wrong. Somehow the blonde shade here just looks off.
Forgive us for selecting famous woman in her own right Jessica Seinfeld, the wonderful wife of super famous Jerry Seinfeld.
42-year-old Jessica has good, healthy hair to begin with. Hair professionals would agree that's a major plus when deciding to do ANY serious, hair transformation.
Hair grows back. Period. And Jessica isn't too attached to her locks, anyway.
“Everyone is asking me why — and basically, ‘Why not?’” said Jessica to People mag. back in May. "I have no attachments to anything physically,” she continued. “My husband always says, ‘I wish you were more materialistic.’ I just have no attachments (to things) so I don’t care. If I hate my hair, it will grow."
And Jessica had excellent professionals leading the way with Sarah Spratt, her colorist who continued the major transformation with New York City stylist Rheanne White to make Jessica's cut — with its rock-and-roll vibe — match the color.
But as cute as Jessica is, we don't think this blonde shade is complimentary to her skin tone. As L.A. celebrity stylist + master colorist Kim Vo has always emphasized to us, your complexion is key:
Kim Vo: Skin tone is the most important factor in deciding your perfect color. It takes a professional eye to determine, but for a simple read, use the veins on your wrist. If your veins are blue, warm tones like chestnut and auburn tones are for you. If your veins are more green, caramel and golden hues will compliment you. If your veins are blue/green, then warm and cool tones can be added seamlessly.
For any of us who fool around with hair color, a darn good conditioner is essential.
Scarlett Johansson likes this one for her blonde locks:
Kerastase Masque Chroma Riche ($62.50).

Everyone Still Talking About Rihanna's Racy, Almost Naked Dress at CFDA Awards
Yes, Rhinna is a gorgeous woman and one, hot tamale....BUT-----
her racy, so sheer, crystal-embellished almost naked dress
was, well...er...kind of vulgar for the CFDA Awards in NYC Monday evening.
When folks can see your areolas, honey, it's time to re-think the dress.
There is a very fine line between sexy and un-sexy. We can only imagine what Ms. lady-like Anna Wintour was thinking as she posed with the statuesque star.
Rihanna knew all eyes would be upon her entrance + exit, as she gracefully accepted this year's fashion icon award.
Maybe a couple of pasties and nude thong would have made this dress work, but we're still not sure.
Meanwhile....we LOVED Rihanna's glam, sequin head scarf + smokey makeup. That was flawless with penciled, full brows, subtle bronzer, sexy, dark lined eyes and soft, nude lips.
Want to copy Rihanna's pale, nude lips?
Then try this one by NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Madere ($26, at Sephora).

Lovely Lupita Turns Heads In Bright Blue Eye Shadow
Lupita Nyongo'o is quite beautiful, hence People magazine's most beautiful woman of 2014.
No arguments there. And we like how Lupita takes fashion chances. Alright, her choice for the Met Gala was a fashion bomb, but at least she took the risk and did it with style + confidence.
Just recently, we noted a beauty risk the Academy Award winner took at 2 very public events.
The first was at the Veuve Cicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J. over the weekend. Lupita looked lovely. And we're digging the black, big-brimmed hat---Nice!
But what we're really adoring is the bright blue eye shadow usually seen as a beauty DON'T.
And then again, Lupita wowed us with a glam, cropped jumpsuit at the CFDA Fashion Awards event Monday night. And there's the bright blue eye shadow, once more.
Blue eye shadow is actually pretty with dark brown eyes like Lupita's.
Makeup artist Nick Barose told InStyle.com how he created Lupita's makeup look:
"When it comes to summer makeup, don’t overthink it—blue is actually easier to wear than you imagine. The key is to keep the application simple."
With a wet shadow brush, Nick applied the cobalt shade from Lancome's 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Midnight Rush ($50; lancome-usa.com), and blended it all over her lids and diffused the color past the crease. "I smudged it around the eyes to create kind of a soft smoke," he says.
"The blue is already such a statement, so go easy with the application, and keep it uncomplicated."
Will you try bright blue eye shadow this summer?

Yes, It's Okay To Trim Your Brows But---Think Conservative Snips!
If you have thin brows and are trying desperately to GROW a fuller pair, remember---It's okay to trim your brows. Seriously, we have to groom; that's what women do.
We've all heard to STAY AWAY from the waxing, plucking, trimming when trying to develop fuller, thicker brows.
Waxing is a given. Stay far from that if your brows are anemic-looking.
Plucking here and there is alright, but you don't want to get caught up in it and remove too many hairs.
The sensible thing to do is this:
Get a brow brush and brow scissors. Tweezerman has a great, little kit.
We found it at Macys.com for $19.
Directions:
1. Brush up hairs with the brow brush.
2. Hold them in place.
3. And with the small brow scissors, snip ONLY the tips above your brow line.
Think conservative snips. Do NOT be too generous with your cutting.
This healthy, little trim will keep your brows in order and growing good!

The Two Best Things You Must Do To Maintain Great Skin
We all want smoother, younger-looking skin, and these days we have a lot of beauty options. Skin care technology has come a long way. From lasers to dermal fillers, there are quick fixes that don't require plastic surgery.
That also means skin care products have evolved quite nicely just in the past 10 years. And that's what we are looking at today.
Here's some smart skin care advice from dermatologist Dr. Brandith Irwin of SkinTour.com.
To maintain GREAT skin, you MUST use these 2 products NOW + ALWAYS:
1. - A potent UVA blocking (they all block UVB) sunscreen.
Dr. Irwin's advice---
2. - A Retinoid (Vit A cousin cream).
"Retinoids are repair creams that have 20 years of science and experience behind them. They build collagen and normalize sun damaged keratinocytes (skin cells) and help to prevent precancerous growths and skin cancers if used regularly."
Your derm can give you a prescription, but if you prefer over-the-counter, here's one to try.

- For daily wear if you are mostly inside, a facial moisturizer or sunscreen with SPF 30 is ideal and easy to use.
- For days spent outdoors, a higher SPF with is recommended with "broad-spectrum" (better UVA) protection. Look for sunscreens zinc oxide or titanium (5% or greater). Or for sunscreens with Mexoryl 3% or "stabilized" Parsol/avobenzone. These all give excellent UVA and UVB protection.
