Hats seem to be just about everywhere this spring. And celebrities are leading the way.
A great hat can serve a few key purposes:
1. Style
2. Sun Protection
3. Anonymity
4. Bad Hair Day Cover-Up
5. Keeping Cool in the Heat
Let's look at one of our favorite bad a** supermodels of all time:
Naomi Campbell. There's the elegant beauty in New York City in sexy stilettos and a pretty brimmed, khaki hat.
Naomi makes everything look HOT. And she's got the attitude!
Here is lovely Jessica Alba strolling through balmy Beverly Hills in a breezy denim jumpsuit and wide-brimmed straw hat.
And there is also actress Dakota Johnson at JFK Airport wearing a dark head-to-toe ensemble. Her hat appears to be of straw material, also. And hers has an adorable polka dot ribbon tied around it.
And then there is "Downton Abbey's" Joanne Froggatt in a cute, black cap with skinny jeans and floral scarf arriving at Heathrow Airport in London.
Hats come in so-ooooo many, wonderful choices.
We found this Jessica Alba straw hat look-alike here at BooHoo.com
We think this one is even prettier than Jessica's hat! Can't beat the rock-bottom price of $20, PLUS 20% off and FREE shipping to the USA!!

Busy actress Gabrielle Union is running around planning for a wedding soon to the Miami Heat's Dwayne Wade.

The 41-year-old beauty has a gorgeous head of hair to go with that gorgeous face.
We always wonder how celebrities maintain their looks. This time Gabrielle is talking to the May 5th issue of People magazine. And she shares her honest + healthy hair tips:
"I only wash my hair once, sometimes twice a week. I can't do too much because it breaks off. I use Trilogy shampoo + conditioner. That line is like instant goodness."
Simple, but excellent beauty advice. The Trilogy line isn't cheap, but then again--- a bottle of shampoo goes a long way.
What's intriguing about the Trilogy line is its special formula......Yes...artichoke-based! It works!
"Protein rich Keracyn™ from artichoke protects by coating the hair shaft with a restorative and protective botanical shield – ideal for colour treated or heat damaged hair. ".

Rihanna's Glam Green Lips At iHeartAwards: Do Not Try This At Home!
Some would argue that superstar Rihanna is so stunning, that she CAN get away with GREEN lips.
But our humble advice: Do NOT try this at home. (LOL)
Between all that Goth-inspired stuff, the beautiful singer kept her makeup to a minimum and let her lips do all the talking, so to speak.
Does it work?
Yes, if you are gorgeous and in your 20s. You CAN get away with wild makeup + hairstyles, like RiRi's playful, bad-ass hair knots.
You can also get away with wearing see-through, naughty, peek-a-boo lace from head-to-toe.
And yeah, Rihanna piled on the silver jewelry beyond the point of no return. But it works.
Want a pair of MAJOR silver hoops like Rihanna's wearing? We're talking BIG 4-inch hoops!
Check these out! We bought a pair here at Etsy for $7.99. You can COPY RiRi's look on the cheap.
As far as the green lips go, well, we'll leave that up to you!

The Powerful Peplum Is Still Creating Curves for Spring + Summer 2014
Some of you might be wondering if the pretty peplum look is already passe.
Well, hate to say it----but the PEPLUM lives on at least for spring + summer 2014. Fashion week proved that on the runway.
And to prove this hourglass shaping style remains HOT, just take a look at gorgeous Emmanuelle Chriqui in a strapless, black Katherine Kidd peplum dress at a Crackle NewFronts event last evening in New York City.
Peplums are supposed to be clever, fashion-forgiving items. The fabric style hides a bigger belly. It allows the waist to look smaller, and can add curvy shape to less than curvy hips. But it all depends on the proportion or cut of the peplum.
For longer-waisted gals like ourselves, we need a peplum to hit at the waist...NOT the rib cage.
A peplum in black will work beautifully for ANY formal event. And you can pick up one at an inexpensive price. You can also wear a black peplum top for a casual occasion. It's a very versatile piece to own.
We found more than 100, lovely, black peplum tops/dresses at BooHoo.com. And you can't beat these LOW prices
! Take a peek below:
Will you be wearing a peplum this spring/summer?
Or do you wish the peplum fades away soon?

Denim On Denim Hot Again! Bride-To-Be Kim Kardashian Wearing Look To Balmain Showroom
Denim on denim....
Okay, maybe NOT a great look for every person.
It CAN resemble kind of er...hillbilly country. But when done right, denim on denim can look casually chic.
New bride-to-be (again) Kim Kardashian pulls off the denim on denim hot trend in sophisticated Paris. There she is leaving the Balmain showroom. The rumours suggest she will be wearing the elegant Balmain brand for her wedding dress.
We think Kim K looks glam in her jeans, denim shirt and pinky-beige pumps. It's a slimming effect from head-to-toe for the petite, curvy reality TV star.
Kim K is aware of the denim on denim trend, as it was featured all over the runways from NYC to Milan.
And VS model Alessandra Ambrosio would agree, because she's been out copying the hot look, too.
It's easy to imitate. Most everyone on the planet owns a pair of jeans And a high percentage also have a denim shirt hanging in their closet. If not....here are a few denim shirts to consider:

Cindy Crawford's Derm Designs New Botox: But Think Before Getting This One!
We LOVE it when brand new beauty + skin care products are launched that use the latest scientific research. We are all for it. But do your homework. It's smart to get 2nd opinions to see if the product or treatment is for you and safe.
This brings us to a brand new Botox called Silhouette Soft. We like the name of this new injectable being introduced by the well-respected dermatologist of Cindy Crawford.
His name is Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh. He runs famous skin care clinics in both Paris + London. Plus, he created Cindy's skin care line "Meaningful Beauty."
What's so BAD about Silhouette Soft?
Hopefully NOT a thing. But when we learned what the injectable was made from, a beauty red flag went up. In a moment, we will explain our humble opinion.
First---the new Botox is "as big and important as Botox was 7 years ago," claims Mr. Sebagh. It's given to the patient with a needle to temporarily restore lovely volume to the face and to arrest wrinkles.
Sounds great, so far. And it only takes about 30 mins. for a session. NO downtime, and according to Dr. Sebagh, the New Botox continues to 'grow' inside the patient by encouraging the body to produce its OWN collagen over time, so that the face remains buoyant + youthful.
Touch-ups are advised after a year or year and a half.
The cost is about $2,000.
Here's where we start squirming......The Soft Silhouette uses thread made of poly-l-lactic acid, which acts on the deep skin layers.
.
Poly-l-lactic acid is otherwise known as Sculptra. Most of you have heard about this popular injection that was initially used for HIV patients to successfully fill and restore volume to gaunt or depressed facial features.
One Boston plastic surgeon we have interviewed quietly told us to NEVER receive an injectable made of poly-l-lactic acid or even the popular Radiesse filler. He advised us that these 2 facial fillers in general can cause problems beneath the DEEP skin layers. So, if the skin suddenly develops an allergic reaction or infection, it is DIFFICULT to remove poly-l-lactic acid or Radiesse from the face, because these formulas can harden like cement.
Fillers like Juvederm, Restylane + Perlane are all safe, this doctor has told us...as is Botox.
So, just our humble opinion, but coming from the advice of a longtime, brilliant plastic surgeon. We are not naming him today, because we do not want to throw shade at Dr. Sebagh's new product launch.
And we did not interview this plastic surgeon about Dr. Sebagh's new threading proceure.
The beauty lesson here:
...Do your homework. Find the BEST products for you.
Maybe you have had Sculptra or Radiesse and LOVE it. That's fine. Just trying to give another opinion.
By the way.....Silhouette Soft is FDA-cleared for the US market and CE marked for the European market.
