We liked when Rihanna rocked the bold red hue for several months last year. Maybe the superstar will go back to some auburn fun in the new year.
There are a number of red shades to choose from. Just remember that it's all about the skin tone when it comes to dyeing hair. And the personality.
And if you are NOT a natural redhead (REAL redheads currently make up only 2% of the world's population), well, let's put it this way.....This color is the HARDEST to maintain says celebrity colorist Kim Vo:
"The biggest challenge are reds. The red color molecule is the smallest of all colors. It's like a tropical rainstorm. It's tempest and dramatic at first and then quickly fades. "
That's an excellent description of handling red hair dye.
Always seek out a professional stylist when you wish to jump to a major color change to get the perfect shade individual you.
There's even a website dedicated to all redheads looking for beauty. It's called JustForRedheads.
The JFR website features 'beauty products designed by a redhead, just for redheads.' The website was founded by Paula Pennypacker, president of the JFR company.
What's even more spectacular in the new year is THE color for 2013. According to the Pantone Color Institute, emerald green is the HOT shade:
"Green is the most abundant hue in nature -- the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, in a news release. "Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world. This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors."
And we all know how amazing red hair goes with green!
