Nicole Richie's Simple Solution For Big Beach Wave Hair

Nicole Richie once said, that she can't put on makeup well, but she CAN style hair.

"I actually think I am the best hairstylist on the planet," Nicole laughs.

And we believe her, which means, Nicole Richie probably has lots of great hair that does what she wants it to do.

If you haven't caught photos of the super petite fashion and jewelry designer, then take a look at the 30-year-old mom of two looking glam in the pages of the June issue of Glamour magazine.

Wow!

How does Nicole get her style into perfect-messy beach wave hair?

Nicole tells Glamour that she has naturally curly hair, but to get the beach waves, she has to improvise. It's a simple 3-step process:

1. Braid hair at night and then let it out the next day.
2. Curl hair with a flatiron in the morning to create uneven waves.
3. Scrunch with Wella Rugged Fix Matte Molding Creme ($15.99, at wella.com salons
,or online at BeautyofNewYork).

Wella is a texturizing cream that keeps hair in its place. It's a sticky white paste you can also use BEFORE pulling locks into an updo. It's definitely a molder--you shape and texturize with it.

Nicole also remarked to Glamour that..."If you have bobby pins, you can always figure out some sort of look.

Oh, really? We wish it were that simple for ourself.

How about you, dear reader---better at makeup or better at doing hair?

Nuxe Dry Oil Golden Shimmer: For That Spa In A Bottle Feeling

Dry oil.

Is there such a thing in the beauty world?

Yes, indeed!

If you're looking for a natural golden sheen, dry oil is the way to go. And we have a super one to get your glow on:

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse or Dry Oil Golden Shimmer ($58, at b-glowing.com). A lot of models, beauty editors, and spa experts adore this dry oil for its wonderful moisturizing properties and lovely golden mother-of-pearl shine it leaves behind. It's fine for all skin types

We like the Nuxe Huile dry oil for its 3-pronged beauty benefits:

Use all year round, winter or summer. Ideal after sunbathing.
- Face: Apply to face or blend a drop of oil with your day cream.
- Body: Spray Huile Prodigieuse® over entire body.
- Hair: Use as a “mask” for dry hair, smooth over hair ends or spray the oil onto your hair brush.

Ideally, you should be fake-tanning, and if you are, this Nuxe dry oil can only enhance the beauty of your glow. For instance, let's say you spray on Sally Hansen Airbrush legs. After letting it dry completely, spray a little Dry Oil Golden Shimmer into the palm of your hands and smooth over your legs. You'll be amazed at the pretty, subtle sheen it leaves behind.

Would You Pay $29 For The Perfect Eyebrow Pencil/Shaper?

$29??!!

Are you crazy?! For an eyebrow pencil/shaper?!

Well, it is by Dior, and it is actually a universal brow styler with an ultra-fine tip. That means this universal brown WILL flatter women of every skin tone and hair color. And if the folks at Dior are claiming this, we believe them.

Just look at the customer feedback at Nordstrom's. Dior's Diorshow Brow Styler received a 4.7 out of a 5-star rating.

If your brows are thin, just filling them in a bit, will bring more definition to your face, beautifully framing your eyes. If you don't have thick brows, that's okay, too. You don't want to draw in a big, full set, because it will look fake and distract from the purpose of the brow styler. Go with what you've got, and just add a subtle, few hair-like strokes to recreate what nature never gave you, or what you had plucked away for years.

If you over-tweeze, well, we've warned you several articles ago, it takes a long time to grow them back, and after age 40, some eyebrow hairs never return.

Generally speaking, it takes up to 4 months for your brows to grow in fully.

By the way, we have found, unscientifically, that rubbing in some prescription Retin-A over the brows a few nights a week helps them grow, albeit--- slowly. Patience is a virtue in the eyebrow world.

Ciate Caviar Mani: Sprinkles Stay Put As Long As Hands Are Idle

Yummy.

Eye candy for your nails!

It's called the Caviar Mani and it's the hot trend straight from across the pond. The Ciate nail company based in London created the 3-D manicure, which is named after its resemblance to Caviar eggs.

When we look at the Caviar mani, we think immediately of an ice cream cone dipped in sprinkles.

We're probably too old to be running around with a Caviar mani, but we think this nail trend is sexy/glam for summer.

You can find the Ciate Caviar Mani kit at Sephora for $25, in Rainbow, Mother-of-Pearl, or Black Pearls. Our fave is the rainbow kit:

2-step Caviar Mani
1. Nail Polish in Strawberry Milkshake
2. Pearlescent Beads in Rainbow
.

And if you're all thumbs, don't worry, this is not that hard to do. Just paint on the sticky base coat. Gently sprinkle your polish with the Caviar Pearls and seal in the manicure across the free edge with a gleaming top coat to create a decadent 3-D finish.

There's something very appealing about the Caviar mani. How adorable are these tiny, elegant sprinkles?!

Our only advice:
Eventually, these sprinkles go airborne....You will find them in your food, in your hair, when you wash your hands, etc. So, enjoy the 3-D manicure while it lasts.

It's best to let the Caviar mani dry for the recommended 15-20 mins., and best to apply the manicure just before heading out the door, that way you savor each little pearlescent bead. If you start using your hands too much, the sprinkles WILL start flying.

Our beauty conclusion:
The Ciate Caviar Mani is tres chic, even for just a few hours.

Unbelievable: Tattoo Hair Pigmentation Gives Back Missing Hairline

Good Look Ink.

That's the name of the company that is doing some very amazing cosmetic hair miracles.

We caught wind of this on Good Morning America today, and we were blown away.

The process is called Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Restoration or scalp micropigmentation.

To us, it looks like the areas of the scalp that are balding or missing hair are tattooed with ink, to resemble a hairline or to appear as a fuller head of hair. In other words, all pigment is blended to match one's natural follicle hair.

And we think the results speak for themselves. Pretty awesome, indeed!

So, how is it done?

According to GoodLookInc.com, "Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication is a process of inserting pigment into the skin with an electrically-powered hair-fine needle. The custom needles penetrate the skin by about a millimeter and deposits an impression of insoluble CTHR™ formulated pigment with each application. The pigment appears through the epidermis, which is the outer layer of skin.

"The result is a client’s replicated follicle applied tens of thousands of times, creating the appearance of a full-looking head of hair that can last a lifetime"!

Take a look at the BEFORE + AFTER photos.

What do you think?
