No One Wears Neutrals Better Than Demi--Hot Colors For Fall

Neutrals like camel, beige, taupe, grey, and charcoal, are not always easy to pull off in the world of fashion. But Hollywood's Demi Moore wears neutrals better than the rest. And for Fall 2010 into Spring 2011, this is the hot trend. Put your engines into neutral, ladies!

The actress has been putting on the neutrals for years now, with femininity and elegance. Stylists call this year's neutral fashions, a return to lady-like glamour.

We chose to feature Demi Moore, not only because she and Ashton Kutcher are making headlines these days, but for her sophisticated style evolution. The dark-haired actress and mom to 3 girls, has come a long way.

Demi Moore adores wearing a muted look on the red carpet, but in no way, are the colors she chooses ever boring or dowdy. She seems to favor nudes, taupes, and pale greys. And trust us, you won't fade into the background wearing neutrals. Instead, the look is a classic one, that never falls out of style.

Let's take a look. In the top center photo, Demi is wearing an Atelier Versace gown in buff. Oscars 2010.

In photo 2, we see Demi in a delicate nude chiffon Christian Dior gown. Golden Globes 2009.

In photo 3, the actress looks striking and sexy in a grey, beaded gown. 1995 event.
And in photo 4, Demi wows her fans in a taupe, one-sleeved Lanvin Spring 2010 dress. 2009 event. Demi was already ahead of the game, wearing it first.

Sometimes, a softer shade of color speaks volumes when it comes to fashion, makeup, and nails. And this season, is the time to try some.

Perricone Says Avocado Makes You Sexy And More Good Foods To Keep You Young

Avocados make you sexy?!

Let's put it this way.......if you believe anti-aging expert Dr. Nicholas Perricone, then you would come to learn that this fleshy, yummy green fruit full of healthy fats, can actually increase libido. Hmmm. We eat one avocado a week. Need we say more?
Dr. Perricone has a new book out--Forever Young:The Science of Nutrigenomics for Glowing, Wrinkle-Free Skin and Radiant Health at Every Age.

Why should we trust him?

Well, he is a best-selling NY Times author. Remember that one? The Wrinkle Cure. Even we have a copy.

And Dr. Nicholas Perricone brings science to the art of beauty. At least, this dermatologist tries really hard to find, through tons of clinical and laboratory research, ways to keep women looking young and healthy, hopefully, forever.

Hence...his newest book, Forever Young. The doctor made an appearance on Good Morning America today, revealing foods that keep you looking and feeling young. And the humble avocado is just one of his picks.

Here are more:
1. Cinnamon. Just an 1/8 of a teaspoon daily, can reap major benefits. Dr. Perricone says that this tasty spice regulates blood sugar, which helps keep skin wrinkle-free. Cinnamon also has strong properties that prevent dangerous melanoma(skin cancer).
2. Watercress. This leafy green veggie is packed with minerals and diuretic properties to help remove toxins from the body. It's believed to prevent against cancer as well as target eye and skin health. Dr. Perricone mentioned on GMA that watercress clears up acne, too.
3. Salmon and other cold water fish. The orange-colored oily fish is full of good protein, which the body needs to maintain and repair itself as we age. Salmon also features omega-3 essential fatty acids and antioxidants that battle inflammation, keep skin looking young.
4. Chia seeds. The nutty, little snack is also packed with omega-3 fatty acids, to keep skin, heart and brain healthy. Chia seeds are also an excellent source for vitamin E and calcium.
5. Coconut oil. This is not a typo. Dr. Perricone prefers organic coconut oil, but claims this fat product contains important saturated fats that help strengthen cell walls. Coconut oil also works well with the thyroid to increase metabolism.

And there are more forever young foods to help you stay that way. Check out Dr. Perricone's new book, Forever Young: The Science of Nutrigenomics for Glowing, Wrinkle-Free Skin and Radiant Health at Every Age.

Congratulations, Juliana Margulies! The star of the popular TV series has just been named the newest face for L'Oreal Paris.

Really? Small pores? We hate her already. Pores that you can barely see, are hard to come by. Good genes, girlfriend.

Beauty Tips From Newest Desperate Housewives Star Vanessa Williams

Sexy Vanessa Williams is sure to bring a breath of sultry air to the set of television's Desperate Housewives show, when the new season airs tomorrow night on ABC. She is definitely worth tuning in for.

At age 46, Vanessa Williams remains a beautiful, healthy, youthful-looking woman. So, how does the talented actress and singer maintain her great appearance? Please...some beauty tips!

For one thing, Vanessa is a proud and unashamed user of Botox cosmetic. She adores the number one injectable in the U.S., because it keeps fine lines and wrinkles at bay, and gives her back a rested and refreshed look.

"Twice a year I receive Botox injections from a doctor whom I trust very much. I also have some favorite beauty products that I use on a daily basis – Perfekt’s Skin Perfection Gel and Mila Moursi’s moisturizing oil," Vanessa Williams told Essence magazine.

We love that about Vanessa. She's honest about her beauty routine, and not embarrassed to admit, that even Hollywood lovelies resort to cosmetic advancements like Botox:

"It’s no secret that I receive Botox cosmetic treatments to reduce the appearance of the two frown lines between my brows that look like an 11 and give me a tired or stressed appearance."

And the newest Desperate Housewives star also dishes about another beauty tip she's been trying. "My new obsession is this treatment I’ve been getting from The Goddess Repair Shop. It uses micro-currents to firm, detoxify, and metabolize fat. It’s just an amazing machine."

And the gorgeous actress also told Shape magazine, that she keeps her curves by shaking her booty, and by sticking to a work-out routine:

"I work out with a great trainer in New York, Sal Gaglio. I try to weight train at least once or twice a week. I hit the treadmill if I’m not training. I’ll do yoga when I have the time. Also, I do a lot of salsa dancing. That’s a great way to stay in shape and be social.".

As for diet, Vanessa Williams likes to keep it healthy. "Go fresh. Try to steer away from anything that’s pre-packaged, canned or processed. I crave chocolate and sometimes I indulge. But I listen to that little voice when it says stop because you’ll see it in a few days and you’ll have to do more work to get it off."

Can't wait for tomorrow night's Desperate Housewives season opener!

Serena Williams Loves OPI And Essie Nail Polishes

Serena Williams, the number 1 tennis player in the world, has a super backhand. But have you ever noticed her super nails?!

We had no idea, that Serena was so into nails. In fact, the tennis great is almost a certified nail technician in the state of Florida. No kidding.

In her Global Grind blog, Serena wrote all about her passion for nails:
...."No one likes getting their nails done more than I do. As a matter of fact I go every four days to get a manicure and every seven days for a pedicure. So, I had a brilliant idea to get certified to be a nail tech."

"Besides the fact that I am coming out with a nail collection from a company called HairTech, I thought 'Serena, this is a no-brainer'. Immediately after I came home from the Australian Open I researched some schools and enrolled in a course that allowed me to complete 240 hours... The night before my class I made sure I had all my tools, books and gear organized."

Don't think it's so easy becoming a nail tech, especially when you play tennis for a living and don't have a lot of time to spare. Serena has had to paint plenty of nails. "You need to do 240 hours---25 manicures, 40 acrylics, 20 pedicures," she explains in the August issue of Vogue magazine.

Here are Serena Williams' top ranked nail polish shades:
1. O.P.I. Vodka & Caviar. An elegant, rich crimson shade.
2. Essie Russian Roulette. A classic bright red with orange undertones.

The only nail shade Serena won't wear is blue, not flattering on her skin, she says.

Congrats to the world's most famous nail tech!

NY Fashion Week Trend: Gap-Toothed Smiles Were Center Stage

Model Lauren Hutton made gap-toothed smiles a rare and striking look back in the 1970s. And apparently, the hot trend at the moment, is a not-so-perfect smile, recently noted at NY Fashion Week.

Yes, this is for real. In fact, designers were seeking the space-between-the-teeth as a most coveted attribute for the runway. Even the well-respected and serious Wall Street Journal devoted an entire article on the glory of the gap:

"I think people want to see something different, something off," says casting director Natalie Joos, who chose such models for the runway shows of Lacoste and Cynthia Steffe this season.

And gap-toothed beauties, like curvy model Lara Stone are also hitting the fashion mags. Take a look at Lara, her ample bosom, and her signature smile on the stunning October cover of French Vogue's 90th anniversay issue. OMG!

In addition, Lara Stone at the young age of 26, is the face of Calvin Klein and was labeled "girl of the year" by Vogue U.K in 2009. And take a peek in this year's September issue---there's Lara beaming with her imperfect smile, in a 12-page editorial spread, her gapped front teeth on display in every single photo.

Celebrities like Madonna, Lauren Hutton, Vanessa Paradis, and Anna Paquin, are just a few lovely ladies who also refuse to fill up that natural space, that trendy gap.

We have to wonder, has the often snobby world of fashion and beauty, done an about-face, so to speak, and signaled to the masses, that absolute perfection is out of style?

We hope so. At the moment, anyway, a natural, physical flaw can seem like a good thing. "It's a love for the imperfect, and the authentic," says Stefano Tonchi, editor-in-chief of W magazine tells WSJ. "These are values that are more and more important for younger generations. Originality, authenticity…in a world that is more and more digitally enhanced."

And we thought that Invisalign braces were such a cool invention. You can kiss the orthodontist goodbye, for now.
