Jaclyn Smith And Jose Eber Design Beautiful Hair Clip-Ons

Maybe we are on a beautiful hair crusade these days. Our past 3 blogs have been all about the hair.

The faux tresses are called: Style by Jaclyn Smith.

Jaclyn Smith was always our favorite angel, and although Farrah Fawcett got 99% of the attention for her amazing hairstyle, we like to believe that Jaclyn had even better hair and such classic beauty.

Jose Eber has maintained many a pretty head of hair in the Hollywood business. He has always created the loveliest hairstyles for Jaclyn Smith. So we applaud her line of wigs and clip-ons with Jose:

"The collection includes over 20 styles: full-coverage wigs; clever volumizers that integrate with existing hair to boost volume; luxurious falls; and add-on pieces to create polished ponytails and easy updos. Jaclyn even personally selected the collection’s color palette, from her rich Blended Colors (like her signature Caramelized Brown shade) to her exclusive Rooted Colors (available in her wig styles), which begin slightly darker at the roots for a more natural look."

Check out Jaclyn Smith modeling the Volumizer. How hot is this?! Who wouldn't want her hair!!

Bad Economy Hair Tips For Big Spender Jen & Us

Who are we to cast judgment on big box office draw Jennifer Aniston?!
The bad economy has all of us looking for spare change under the couch seats these days.

Except for Miss Jen. Hair gossip has been buzzing for days everywhere about Jennifer Aniston's sky-high hairstyle bill for the London premiere of movie hit Marley & Me.

Now let's be fair here. The movie has brought in some $166 million worldwide. Wow!

Jen's cost to blow and flat-iron her gorgeous sleek, blonde locks over in London----$56,792. Oh, yeah!

The crazy thing is, Jen insisted on having her fav hairstylist Chris McMillian accompany her to London. First class flight to London. Expensive hotels. Expert blow-drying and superb flat-ironing, we are sure. Plus a private jet with Jen to the Paris premier. And so on. More blow-outs and flat-irons.

You get the picture. And the photos here show Jen Aniston at the London premier. She looks lovely, and yes, her hair is pretty. But her hair ain't all that for the hefty pricetag of $56,792!!!

We know, Jen Aniston, an A-list actress, shouldn't have to explain her receipts to anyone, so we can see her point. But we also wonder how insecure this attractive star could be.

Meantime....a couple of hair tips to deal with in this bad economy:

DO buy hair coloring touch-up kits:
In between big and costly hair coloring sessions at the salon, try to cover your own roots.
Pros love Clairol's Nice 'n Easy Root Touch-Up ($7, drugstores).

Or try Instant Grey Touch Up ($5.99, http://www.beautyboutique.com/). Comes in a mascara-like tube. All you do is brush away the grey. Comes in 5 shades.

DO clip beauty coupons in the Sunday papers from drugstores. Then wait for a big sale. You can get great savings on shampoos, conditioners, hair color, hairstyling products.

DO try the TRESemme hair care line:
Tons of wonderful shampoos, volumizers, hairsprays, and more, at decent prices. Big bottles for cheap!! And the fine folks at TRESemme are always introducing new lines of hair products. The latest:
TRESemme 24-Hour Body Collection. Foaming Mousse. Root spray. Sculpting spray. Weightless creme. etc.

Naked Naturals Shampoo Makes Hair 7x Stronger

One of our girlfriends told us about this shampoo line---Naked Naturals. And we stress 'all-natural.'

No harsh this or that. Nothing synthetic. And certainly, not a bit of artificial anything.

By the way, our friend colors her shoulder-length very blonde hair. And it is thick and shiny.

She uses the Naked Naturals Awapuhi & Lavender Color-Treated Hair Shampoo ($8.49, at local drugstores and supermarkets everywhere).

Awapuhi is a powerful plant protein, that when combined with the beauty and medicinal properties of lavender, make for a super hair shampoo. Naked Naturals claims that your hair will become up to 7x stronger.

The Hawaiian awapuhi fortifies your strands from the inside out. And the lovely lavender stimulates hair growth. Of course, the shampoo smells divine, and many say, actually stops hair-breakage. We like that!

There is also a Naked Naturals Awapuhi & Lavender Color-Treated Hair Conditioner
($8.49).

In addition, you can also try:

Naked Naturals Citrus & Keratin Shampoo, and Conditioner
Naked Naturals Aloe Vera & Chamomile Shampoo, and Conditioner

New Adonia LegTone Serum Zaps Cellulite In 9 Minutes?

We would be doing you all a disservice, by not keeping you up-to-date with all the new beauty and skin care products appearing on the market.

And here is yet one more:
Another promising cellulite serum. This one called Adonia LegTone Serum by Green Island Labs, swears to go to work in just 9 minutes, to improve your dimpled fat cellulite by 47%.

Look, we've done a few articles in the past, here at BeautyTipToday, and we have interviewed the dimpled fat experts like Anushka and Dr. Murad. And both professionals have told us, that there is "no way to permanently get rid of cellulite."

We checked out www.adonialegtone.com, and this is how they explain their miracle cellulite formula:

"Using the latest Plant Stem Cell technology combined with the time-tested wisdom of 23 organic Greek botanicals; Adonia's LegTone™ Serum helps to re-awaken and reactivate dormant or less active skin stem cells back to the levels they were in your 20s. By rejuvenating your existing skin stem cells, you can help reduce the appearance of cellulite naturally. Healthy stem cells cause the skin to regenerate and renew itself naturally."

But Anushka and Dr. Murad both believe there are treatments to reduce the appearance of cellulite and to prevent new cellulite formation.

Okay, having said that, maybe Adonia LegTone Serum can make our thighs 'look' more smooth and toned temporarily.

However, there is something a little off with the science Green Island Labs is claiming to use, acoording to one expert, who said this to the Daily Mail of Great Britain:

"Prof Liam Dolan, an expert in plant stem cells at the John Innes Centre in Norwich, said he was surprised to hear that stem cells could regenerate human skin stem cells.

'There may be chemicals in plant stem cells that stimulate animal stem cells, but if that was the case I wouldn't expert to learn about it from a cosmetic company website - it would be front page news of a major science journal,' he said.
'If the product worked as claimed, the developers deserved a Nobel Prize', he said."

What we do like about this new cellulite zapper, is Green Island Lab's 60-day-money-back-guarantee. The cost is $87, and includes FREE FedEx shipping.

A Little Lemon Juice Can Brighten And Smooth Skin

We love any beauty product we can get our hands on. But we also adore natural beauty products, too.

Sometimes, you don't have to spend a lot, to freshen up your skin, for instance. And that's where we turn to Marcia Kilgore, skin expert and founder of Bliss Spa, and her newest beauty venture appearing this May at Target called Soap & Glory Skin Care (an expansion of her current bath & body items).

The 40-ish blonde hair bob beauty with the amazing bone structure, has been talking about lemon juice. And how the citric acid in it, can do some amazing things for your skin.

According to Marcia Kilgore, lemon juice can help exfoliate your winter skin. And she gave this advice to http://www.fashion.elle.com/:

"As for your face, it depends on your skin type but I would recommend exfoliating two to four times a week for oily skin and less often for dry/sensitive types. Remember to pay particular attention to blackheads, blocked pores, flaky foreheads and oily chins. Want to pump up your scrub? Squirt a little lemon juice into your favorite facial scrub to boost its natural brightening power and exfoliating action. (Lemon juice contains citric acid, one of the five alpha hydroxy acids that dissolve the glue that keeps dead cells stuck to your skin.)"

And that's not all this tart, little juice can do. Marcia Kilgore also uses nature's lemons to diminish the appearance of brown spots. She says that "a daily dab of lemon juice will lighten them. Citric acid is magic."

As far as exfoliating the dry, winter skin from your body, stay away from scrubbers like loofahs. We got this advice from famous plastic surgeon Dr. Michelle Copeland, who advised us back in June, to throw away our loofahs and washcloths because these bath items break the normal skin barrier, and bacteria can easily sneak in.

Marcia Kilgore tends to agree with Dr. Copeland.

"Exfoliation should be a regular feature of your body and facial routine all year round. Incorporate a body exfoliator into your shower routine at least three times weekly to slough away dead skin cells quicker. Not only will it simultaneously stimulate circulation, your after-shower moisture lotions will sink in more readily. And by the way, just say no to loofahs. Once used, they are loaded with bacteria build-up.

Try Soap & Glory Sugar Crush, made with smashed brown sugar, sweet lime, almond oil and macadamia grains."

How To Grow A More Attractive Set Of Healthy Nails

Our nails are not pretty. And don't look as attractive as a set of nails should. Okay, we said it.

At the moment, some of our nails are chipped. A couple with vertical ridges. And barely growing. At least our nails are short and somewhat neat. Well, a few are, at least.

What's going on?!

We've all heard how beneficial olive oil is for growing strong fingernails. We've been enjoying it in our Mediterranean diet for years. Why hasn't it helped us?

Maybe, soaking hands and feet in olive oil, to be exact. This old and simple method softens rough cuticles and nourishes nails.

But why the chipping, vertical ridges, weak/brittleness?

We did a little research and found some great nail tips from the well-respected Mayo Clinic:

Your nails are made up of laminated layers of a protein called keratin, which is also found in your hair and skin.

And it takes a fingernail about 4 to 6 months to fully regenerate. That's a slow-www process.

"Weak or brittle fingernails can be a challenge to toughen up. The following tips can help you protect them, making your nails less likely to split or break.

Keep your nails short, square shaped and slightly rounded on top.
Trim brittle nails after a bath or a 15-minute hand soak in bath oil.
Then apply a moisturizer.
Moisturize your nails and cuticles at bedtime and cover them with cotton gloves.
Apply a nail hardener, but avoid products containing toluene sulfonamide or formaldehyde. These chemicals can cause redness or irritate the skin.
Don't use nail polish remover more than twice a month. Instead, touch up the polish. When you do need a remover, avoid those that use acetone, which dries nails.
Repair splits or tears with nail glue or clear polish."

And we have also spoken to a few nail technicians who highly recommend brushing on Solar Oil by Creative Nail Design ($7.50, http://www.ulta.com/). Nail pros swear by this easy, quick step routine for a more attractive set of healthy nails.

Solar Oil is formulated with an effective blend of jojoba, rice bran and sweet almond oils infused with the power of vitamin E. Solar Oil is said to penetrate deeply into your cuticles and nails to prevent them from becoming brittle and to promote healthy nail growth.
