We've talked about this several times before......
Everyone NEEDS an eye cream. Please do not ignore this area of the face, because the eyes tend to show aging first.
Why?
Because the skin around the eyes is thinner + dryer and more delicate.
In fact---if you don't own a little tub or tube of eye cream, run out and get some now!
Once you reach your 30s, you will begin to notice crow's feet around your eyes---most of it due to damage from the sun.
New York City dermatologist Eric Schweiger recently explained this frustration to Harper's Bazaar magazine:
"100% of my patients over 30 do not like the way their eyes look."
Get an eye cream stat, he advises.
And find one with retinol, which is an effective cousin to prescription Retin-A.
As Dr. Schweiger noted:
Retinol is the only ingredient proven to treat acne and prevent wrinkles.".
Amen to that.
Glow by Dr. Brandt Revitalizing Retinol Eye cream is a good one to try. ($55, at Sephora).
Research results:
-
96% reported a significant reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles
-
92% reported a brighter-looking eye area
-
92% reported softer and smoother skin
-
100% reported rehydrated skin
-
100% reported perfect tolerance (no redness and no irritation)
I am 34 and a smoker. And now I am really concerned about my crows' feet. They look awful. I will be investing in a retinol eye cream now. Better late then never.
