A 24-hour long lasting lipcolor?!
Okay, maybe the good folks at Maybelline might be stretching the truth here, just a bit, but what woman isn't intrigued by the thought?
So, let's take a closer look at Maybelline's new SuperStay 24 Color ($7.50, at drugstores). The product consists of a 2-step beauty plan. Apply the lip stain first. Let it dry completely (2 minutes, says Maybelline). And then put on the lip balm. There, beautiful, lush lips that last and last.
We love that SuperStay 24 Color comes in 30 shades. Talk about variety. And the pigment is rich, so choose carefully. You might not want something as vivid as Cherry, shown above.
Let's be frank here....If you think you are going to apply the stain, and one swipe of the balm, and reap the 24-hour beauty benefits, well, you might be disappointed. You will have to re-apply the balm throughout the day, afternoon, and evening, to keep lips moist and color fresh.
Still, it's a good beauty buy at just $7.50, because the lip color will hang in there for a long time. And the pretty stain you get, will stay on your lips and not transfer to glasses and utensils, etc.
Just one important tip-----If you have very dry or cracked lips to begin with, then maybe Maybelline's SuperStay 24 Lip Color is not for you. Lip stains, in general, can be quite drying, even with the balm provided.

This lippie 'does what it says on the tin' = you just have to apply it thickly enough and give it plenty of time to dry before you put the balm on. (ie don't just put it on one lip and use that to transfer it to the other lip. you must put it on both lips seperately. If you end up with colour on the balm stick you haven't let the colour dry long enough) If you follow these simple tips you will have trouble fetting it off even the next morning unless you use waterproof makeup remover or baby oil!!
